Terms of Use
AlmaPathway LLC
Effective date: September 1, 2026
Welcome to AlmaPathway. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the AlmaPathway website, application, alumni reply-by-email features, and related services (collectively, the "Services") provided by AlmaPathway LLC ("AlmaPathway," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Services, or by activating an account after being presented with links to these Terms and our Privacy & Data Policy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If your account is created, sponsored, or administered by a school or other organization, an agreement between AlmaPathway and that organization may also apply. If there is a conflict, the organization-level agreement will control to the extent it expressly addresses the conflicting subject.
1. Purpose of AlmaPathway
AlmaPathway is designed to help high-school students connect with alumni from their school for guidance about colleges, majors, educational experiences, internships, careers, and related decisions, while allowing appropriate school counselor oversight.
AlmaPathway facilitates introductions and communication and provides tools that support those interactions. It does not provide professional admissions, employment, financial, legal, medical, or mental-health advice.
2. Eligibility and Authorized Access
You may use AlmaPathway only if:
- you are at least 13 years old;
- you are authorized to participate through a participating school or through an invitation recognized by AlmaPathway;
- you use the role and account assigned to you; and
- your use complies with applicable law and school requirements.
For students and counselors, access may be linked to credentials or identity services managed by the participating school. In those cases, eligibility to use AlmaPathway may depend on the school continuing to recognize and authorize that school account or identity.
Alumni generally access AlmaPathway through an invitation or account established for their participation in the school's alumni community.
Accounts are personal and may not be shared. You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. Notify AlmaPathway or your school promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, your use may also be subject to permissions required by applicable law or your school.
3. User Roles
The Services may provide different features and permissions depending on your role, including student, alumni, counselor, head counselor, or platform administrator.
You may access only information and functions made available to your authorized role. You may not attempt to obtain access to another user's account, another school's community, restricted administrative functions, or information that the Services do not make available to you.
4. Student-Alumni Connections and Guidance
Alumni guidance is intended to provide firsthand perspective and practical insight, but it reflects the individual alumnus's own experience and opinion.
AlmaPathway does not guarantee:
- the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of information provided by an alumnus or other user;
- that an alumnus will respond to a request or message;
- admission to any college or educational program;
- an internship, job, scholarship, or other opportunity; or
- any particular educational, professional, or personal outcome.
Students and families remain responsible for their own decisions and should consult qualified school personnel or other appropriate professionals when needed.
Participation by an alumnus does not mean that AlmaPathway or the participating school endorses every statement, recommendation, employer, institution, product, or service mentioned by that alumnus.
5. Appropriate Use
AlmaPathway is intended to support respectful, constructive educational and mentorship conversations within a participating school community.
Users must use AlmaPathway in a way that is consistent with that purpose and with any applicable school requirements.
Users may not:
- engage in disrespectful or otherwise inappropriate behavior toward another user;
- attempt to move a student-alumni relationship outside AlmaPathway or circumvent messaging, moderation, access, or other safety controls;
- impersonate another person, misuse another user's account, or attempt to access information or functions they are not authorized to use; or
- use AlmaPathway for purposes unrelated to the educational and mentorship relationship.
Participating schools may establish additional conduct requirements for their communities. AlmaPathway may restrict or terminate access when these rules or applicable school requirements are violated.
6. Messaging and Safety
AlmaPathway is designed to support thoughtful, appropriate conversations between students and alumni.
To help keep those conversations consistent with the educational and mentorship purpose of the platform, AlmaPathway may use automated tools and, when needed, limited human review to identify messages that may require attention.
In some cases, a message may be temporarily held for review before it is delivered. If a message is reviewed, authorized school personnel may see only the limited conversation context needed to understand the issue.
Counselors do not routinely read complete student-alumni conversations simply because they are counselors.
AlmaPathway or a participating school may take appropriate steps when a message or account activity does not fit the intended educational and mentorship use of the platform.
7. Alumni Replies by Email
For some existing student-alumni conversations, alumni may be able to reply directly from an AlmaPathway email notification instead of returning to the application.
Email replies are treated like messages sent through AlmaPathway and are subject to the same messaging and moderation rules.
To route the reply correctly, AlmaPathway may verify that the reply comes from the alumni email address associated with the account and that the conversation is still active and eligible for messaging.
Attachments and images are not supported. If an alumnus includes an attachment or image together with text, the text may still be delivered but the attachment or image will not be. If the reply contains only an attachment or image, the message will not be delivered.
Alumni can always choose to open AlmaPathway and reply through the application instead.
8. Information and Messages You Provide
The information you enter into AlmaPathway—such as profile details, biographies, and messages—remains yours.
You give AlmaPathway permission to store, process, display, and transmit that information only as needed to operate the service, support the student-alumni relationship, provide school oversight and moderation, maintain security, and comply with applicable legal or contractual requirements.
You are responsible for making sure the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and appropriate for use within AlmaPathway.
AlmaPathway may restrict or remove information or messages when reasonably necessary to operate the service, enforce these Terms, respond to school instructions, or address safety or security concerns.
9. Privacy
AlmaPathway's collection, use, sharing, retention, and protection of personal information are described in our Privacy & Data Policy:
https://www.almapathway.com/privacy
By using AlmaPathway, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review the Privacy & Data Policy.
10. School-Administered Accounts
AlmaPathway is used in partnership with participating schools. Schools may determine who is eligible to participate and may manage certain account and program settings, including student and counselor access, counselor assignments, alumni participation, and account activation or deactivation.
For students and counselors, access may depend on school-managed credentials or identity services. If the school no longer authorizes the account, access to AlmaPathway may end.
Schools may also make recommendations, manage program participation, and review matters that require counselor attention as described elsewhere in these Terms and the Privacy & Data Policy.
These Terms govern individual use of AlmaPathway. Separate agreements between AlmaPathway and a participating school may contain additional terms that apply to the school's use of the service.
11. Intellectual Property
AlmaPathway and its related software, design, branding, logos, and documentation are owned by AlmaPathway LLC or its licensors.
University names, trademarks, logos, seals, and other identifying marks are the property of their respective owners. Their use on AlmaPathway is for identification and informational purposes only and does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement unless expressly stated.
You may use AlmaPathway for its intended purpose while you are authorized to access the service. That permission does not transfer ownership of AlmaPathway or give you the right to copy, sell, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit the service except as permitted by law or with AlmaPathway's permission.
Your own information and messages are addressed separately in Section 8.
12. Third-Party Services
AlmaPathway uses third-party services to help provide features such as hosting, authentication, email, and other technical functionality.
Those services may have their own terms and policies. AlmaPathway is not responsible for third-party websites, products, or services that are outside our control.
References or links to colleges, employers, websites, products, or other third parties do not mean that AlmaPathway endorses them.
13. Service Availability and Changes
AlmaPathway works to keep the service reliable and available, but occasional maintenance, updates, or interruptions may occur.
We may make changes to features or functionality over time as we improve the service, respond to school needs, address security or legal requirements, or otherwise operate AlmaPathway.
When practical, we will try to avoid unnecessary disruption to users.
14. Suspension and Termination
AlmaPathway or a participating school may restrict or end access when a user is no longer eligible to participate, when an account presents a security or safety concern, or when use of AlmaPathway is inconsistent with these Terms or applicable school requirements.
We will try to take reasonable and proportionate steps based on the circumstances.
Users may stop using AlmaPathway at any time.
15. Disclaimers
AlmaPathway is provided to support educational and mentorship connections, but we cannot guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or that information provided by users will always be accurate or complete.
Alumni guidance reflects individual experience and perspective, and AlmaPathway does not guarantee any particular educational, admissions, career, or other outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlmaPathway disclaims warranties that are not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlmaPathway will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlmaPathway's total liability to an individual user arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount that user personally paid AlmaPathway during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where the law does not allow them. Separate agreements with participating schools may contain different liability terms for those schools.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
Unless applicable law or a separate written agreement requires otherwise, any legal dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or AlmaPathway must be brought in a state or federal court located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
18. Changes to These Terms
AlmaPathway may update these Terms as the service evolves or as legal, safety, or operational requirements change.
If we make a material change, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
Continued use of AlmaPathway after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
19. General Terms
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
If AlmaPathway does not enforce a provision immediately, that does not mean we give up the right to enforce it later.
These Terms, together with the Privacy & Data Policy and any applicable agreement with a participating school, govern your use of AlmaPathway.
